Shred is not dead! In the early `90's Kurt Cobain allegedly proved to the world that talent and skill were not neccesary to be a great rock n' roll musician. Luckily not everyone was conned, and You Tube has turned into an incredible exhibition of people with mutant fretboard skills.

Here's one such player from Brazil. At :57, prepare to be amazed. At 1:10, prepare to "ooh" and "ahh." At 1:20, prepare to burn every piece of musical gear you've ever purchased.

Actually I discovered early on girls don't really care about guitars or guitar-playing skill. They either like electronic dance music, or Dave Matthews and John Mayer strumming some acoustic chords about love. Electric guitar is mechanical and noisy, like cars, and only other guys get impressed.

also, maybe the guitar is like a big phallic symbol?? sure, tease if you want. but how does a guy in an izod shirt sitting in a poorly lit video translate to anything sensual?

on the other hand, rock stars are sexy and tons of women want 'em. even the crazies, like steven tyler or whoever.
