As Bon Scott so eloquently put it, "
My lady's got balls." Whatever happens from here with her campaign, what shall forever impress me about Hillary Clinton is that she's got tenacity and gumption like no one I've ever witnessed.
Admittedly she started losing me last Sunday after an appearance on
This Week with George Stephanopolous. George laid to rest any suspicion he would give Hillary an easy time due to being her husband's former press secretary. While Tim Russert was working up the nerve to ask for Barack Obama's hand in marriage on
Meet the Press, Stephanopolous batted Hill around the stage like a cat with a small ball of yarn. There were just too many replies of, "I don't know anything about that, you would have to ask the people involved," and, "I'll discuss that after I'm the nominee" for comfort.
However I then found out about the sit-down she had done with Bill O'Reilly Friday night. Now why would Clinton do an interview with Bill O'Reilly? For one thing, O'Reilly is a professional wrestler, not a political commentator. I don't think anyone taking politics seriously is going to Bill O'Reilly for input, a Harvard graduate doing a cartoonish, Archie Bunker "man of the people" act to pander to less-than-bright viewers. Additionally, those viewers are 100% unlikely to vote for Hillary Clinton even if she walked out with a Bible in one hand and a rifle in the other.
I was wrong, though. She did have something to gain, and that was to prove that she could do it. The Number One enemy of the far right could go toe-to-toe with one of their heros and not only not break a sweat, but seem to enjoy the experience. Jay Leno may not have been far from the mark when he joked they almost looked like they were ready to do each other. Two peas in a pod, as the saying goes.
I've only watched the first segment, but it was really entertaining. Take a look:
