Couple o' New Tunes

Here are a couple of new tunes that I'm calling finished, for better or worse. The first is not exactly an original composition but a re-arrangement of a riff another band used to do. I'm not going to elaborate too much `cause I want to see if Scott can recognize it.

An Arabic Jam

The second one...the thing I always liked about Led Zeppelin is how they could combine English folk music into heavy rock n' roll so seamlessly. I wanted to attempt that same kind of thing so I found some soundfonts for banjo and fiddle and came up with this; this is just the solo section. I haven't exactly reached "Battle of Evermore" proficiency yet but I really like it. This is the most involved piece of music I've come up with so far.

Untitled Song with a Banjo In It

Who am I kidding about being finished? I hear elements that need to be remixed.

Okay, so do you recognize that riff? The one in the "chorus"?

Yeah, I did a Google search on Ginzburg and found Elemental Harmonics a few months ago. That's a good symptom of why I think the jam band thing has gone down the bowl. It's merged with the rave scene and now there's zero difference between most of those bands and the Chemical Brothers, except the Chemical Brothers are better. So was the guy you were e-mailing with Ginz or someone else from the band?

Hmm...sure, I'm up for some Umphrey's.
