Well now I've done it. I've signed up for my first class for a Web design certificate. I have to wonder if this is a mistake, but two out of three respondents said it was the right thing to do (the third said there were variables to consider), and they don't work in call centers where they're on the plank, in fact at least
one of them seems to lead a really fun and carefree life, so here I go.
Part of the reason for doing this is to build my skills and have something new and interesting to put on my resume. The other part is just to get out of my rut. This will be a new corner in the work-home-CD store triangle. Maybe there will be some foxy, artsy 20-year-old girl there who has a bizarre attraction to middle-aged men with pudge bellies.
So now I've got a Roth IRA (and I'm still debating what mutual funds or ETF's to buy into) and I've signed up for a class. Look out! I'm defrosting!
I'm sick of that damn company I work for. Now I can get free unemployment money AND college. So go me! Time to take back from a corrupt system that's been screwing me for years.
