The stupid comments surrounding Hillary Clinton's campaign-ending speech didn't end with what I covered Monday! A black girl came in the break room. This is the same girl who said, "Bill Clinton called Obama's campaign a fairy tale!," which was untrue. She sat down and asked the early retiree, "Is she talking about herself again?"
The early retiree said, "She's only talking about herself! She doesn't talk about anyone else or what she's going to do."
Okay...this is Hillary's speech to
her supporters about
her campaign. If she managed to cover that topic without using the words "I," "me" or "mine," that would certainly be a feat.
"She just says she's suspending her campaign, she doesn't say she's ending it," the early retiree pointed out, seeming to think herself quite the verbal sleuth. I had to explain that by suspending the campaign Hillary could keep her votes and delegates and give them to whoever she wanted. John Edwards also suspended his campaign. Clinton wasn't performing any verbal slight-of-hand.
So here I was, surrounded by a black female and three white ladies over 55, and I was the sole Hillary Clinton supporter among them. I guess I should've figured she didn't have a chance.
