The Internet vs. Reality

Pull your chairs up to the monitor real good and close, folks, because I'm about to make the kind of shocking admission people are not supposed to make!

I find the Internet more interesting than reality.

Yeah, I said it! There it is. I'm a big Internet geek. I made the mistake of admitting this in front of a female once and was never looked at the same again, but it's true.

Again and again I fight it. My lower back becomes a bit sore, my butt begins going to sleep, and I begin to think I should go outside and breathe fresh air and move among real, living people. And then...I realize how boring objective reality is. What's out there? Roads. Cars. Strip malls. People looking at merchandise. Restaurants. Snore.

Then I come back to my oracle, and I can read about all sorts of guitars. Catch up on what Robert Plant and Jimmy Page are doing these days. Search for up-and-coming artists on MySpace and Soundclick. Discuss the latest Van Halen tour news, or just any news of the day, with the guys at the Van Halen and Telecaster forums. Watch all sorts of interesting video on YouTube. Hey, speaking of YouTube, there's naked ladies in this box!

And it's not all passive entertainment, either. I can come here and tell you what all I've been up to and thinking about, and even provide links, pictures, audio and video to drive the ideas home. Imagine if I wandered the isles of Circuit City imploring people to watch The Office or saying, "You know where I think organized religion went wrong?" I would be considered quite daft, but in this box it's the norm! Then I can cruise around and discover what William Smythe, Rankin' Rob, Larry Wachs and Eric Von Haessler are talking about. Then there's the tons of concert bootlegs I've downloaded, or the time I spend browsing Amazon and reading the reviews of all the CD's and DVD's.

So...sorry, I enjoy having my face in the monitor more than being out and about, for some reason. Wish I could say the opposite was the case, but it isn't.

Hey, don't judge -- you're here, too.

I love the Internet. Love, love, love.

You Tube: greatest invention ever.

Naked ladies on You Tube, though? Seems they always cut the videos short just before flesh makes an appearance.

What's the secret?

Arthur, check out EskimoTube.com and search on "Teanna Kai." You'll never want to leave that chair. Throw some plastic over your keyboard first, though.

Also check out one called YouPorn.com. Not as much quality as EskimoTube, but some good stuff nonetheless.
