We'll go with something light for Friday.
If you're thinking of slapping the ol' monkey around this weekend, consider this young lady as source material. I'm finally overcoming my cynicism about MySpace and was on there searching for decent bands and singers in Atlanta when I saw this girl in the "Friends" list of one of them. Naturally I forgot about music for the moment and went to her page.
Her name is Somaya Reece, and not surprisingly she's got one of the most-viewed MySpace pages. She touts being something like "Most Viewed Latina" or something. She's using MySpace to try to promote a hip hop music career, and she's got a song (which I haven't heard, because no sound is neccesary to enjoy this page) called "Mira Me Pum Pum," which is supposed to mean, "Look at my nice, round butt." You don't have to ask me twice, miss!
Upon further `net stalking you find there's mentions of her all over the Internet, and people go out of their way to set up blogs saying she's full of shit. They claim she makes up stats and credits on her page, which of course she must: she's claiming this "Pum Pum" song has gotten something like six million spins already and it's just a MP3 on MySpace; I don't think "Stairway to Heaven" has hit six million spins yet. She also announces movies and TV shows she's in as though she's a principal character when actually she flashes by in the background. Gotta admire the spunk, though, I guess. It also begs the question, how can you be that hot and not be known anywhere but by some MySpace pervs? How could that bony little Eva Longoria steal the spotlight from a full-figured, curvy woman like this?
So...as well as sweet eye candy, certainly an interesting character study.
Funny how I always think I have little leisure time, but maybe I have too much. Well so what if I fill that time looking at those pum pums? Is that so wrong?

Just another case of those darn immigrants taking the jobs us American girls just wont do!!
:-)
Art, do you have a myspace page? You should consider it for your music....I'm getting help with mine from my older brother..
Heh...actually she's not Mexican, she's Puerto Rican and El Salvadoran, and Hawaiian in there somewhere. Why do I know this?
Yeah, I'm looking at making a MySpace page. However I need vocals on my tunes. Plus I have this awful thing where everytime I make up a song someone goes, "That sounds like..." Most recently it was noted on a message board that I had inadvertently borrowed part of Pink Floyd's "Echoes," which also caught my attention when I watched Live from Pompeii again. Funny I had only seen that once nearly 10 years ago, but I guess it was in my subconscious. Or David Gilmour stole my ideas two years before I was even born. He's very clever.
